FROM FINLAND & AUSTRALIA
Jeffrey Wegener and Isabelle Phoenix recorded a new original album 'CINEMATIC LOVE SONGS' honouring all things lounge and jazzesque. The duet consist of drums and guitar/keyboard with special guests playing various instruments. At their third gig 19-0yo, Robert Pestorius and Bob Farrell (Laughing Clowns) joined on saxophones. Each show is a catharsis, they explore new musical territory plunging themselves into the spontanious expression of the present moment.
Wegener has played all over the planet with The Laughing Clowns, Ed Kuepper, The Saints, The Birthday Party... to name a few.
Phoenix has collaborated with Mark Plati (David Bowie) on her previous European release The Glorious Dead 2023, playing variouus gigs with Chris Hughes (Crime & the City Solution, Rowland S. Howard, Lydia Lunch...et. al) and Maria Zastrow (Kid Congo...) on bass.
BACKGROUND 2024-2025
It all began in Jeffrey’s home in Sydney. The pair had never played together before and decided to record 8-tracks live in three hours with the help of a friend. Later they mixed the tracks and decided to call these demo recordings "DEMOLITION"
In Melbourne they entered a studio in Melbourne with guitarist Werewolf (Brian Henry Hooper...) and laid the foundations of the up and coming "acoustic" recording 'Cinematic Love Songs' yet to be released, showcasing the album at various locations around the country.
In December 2019, Phoenix formed a Finnish band and played festivals, art galleries and bars until the covid pandemic died.
'Werewolf' arrived in Finland and they self-produced a D.I.Y. recording entitled TaranDtula in the Metso Library. The album was previously known as Terraform and was abandoned. Phoenix has been playing live shows in both Australia and Europe for many years.
